Learn How to Save Water and Get Updates on Our Water Supply
Community Water Company of Green Valley (CWC) invites its members and the public to a Water Conservation Workshop on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Joyner-Green Valley Library. This free workshop is designed to help residents learn practical ways to save water and engage in an open dialogue about our community’s water future. All Green Valley and Sahuarita area residents are welcome to attend and discover what they can do to protect our precious water resources.
The workshop will focus on water-saving Best Management Practices (BMPs) that CWC is implementing and how everyone can contribute to conserving water. CWC will also provide an update on the water utility and discuss how we address current challenges. Attendees will get an inside look at where our water comes from and how we ensure a sustainable supply for the community. This is a family-friendly, conversational event where your questions and ideas about water conservation are encouraged.
- Practical Conservation Tips: Easy changes homeowners can make to save daily water – from efficient irrigation and fixing leaks to water-smart landscaping.
- CWC’s Conservation Initiatives: This section provides an overview of the water conservation BMPs CWC is adopting to secure our water future and how these practices benefit the community.
- Our Water Supply & Sustainability: A look at where Green Valley’s water comes from (groundwater sources and projects like CWC’s Project Renews) and why sustainability and stewardship of our aquifer are so important.
- Water System & Quality: How CWC’s water utility system works to reliably deliver drinking water that meets all regulatory standards, and our ongoing mission to maintain high-quality service.
- Future Plans & Rates: This is an open discussion about upcoming infrastructure upgrades and challenges, including why investments in replacing aging pipes and wells are needed and how these efforts may affect water rates. CWC will explain the need for stable finances to keep the system strong, focusing on transparency for our member-owners.
- Community Q&A: This is a chance for attendees to ask questions and share ideas on water issues. We want to hear from our members and neighbors about their concerns, and we’ll discuss what CWC is doing to address regional water challenges in our area.
CWC General Manager Arturo Gabaldón will lead the workshop alongside key staff from our operations. Operations Manager Saul Leal and Operations Supervisor Trey Harris will be featured speakers to provide technical insights on conservation measures and system operations. These water professionals have decades of experience managing our water supply and are eager to share their knowledge and answer your questions. The format will be interactive and conversational, so attendees can engage directly with the people who run their water utility.
“Our community’s water future is in our hands,” said Arturo Gabaldón, General Manager of CWC. “This workshop is a great opportunity for members and residents to learn simple ways to save water and understand how CWC works to ensure a sustainable water supply. We encourage everyone to join us, ask questions, and be part of the conversation about protecting our most precious resource.”
RSVP: Please let us know if you plan to attend by emailing your name and the number of attendees to Heather Graves (heather@communitywater.com). Space may be limited, so an RSVP will help us accommodate everyone comfortably. All interested community members are encouraged to attend—whether you’re a longtime CWC member or want to learn more about saving water, we welcome you to this informative session.
