Community Water Company of Green Valley announces the upcoming retirement of John Meyer, a distinguished Utility Operator whose 40-year tenure has been instrumental in the reliable water delivery to the Green Valley and Sahuarita communities.
Since joining Community Water Company in 1985, John has played a vital role in managing and maintaining the water delivery system, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and environmental stewardship. His expertise has been pivotal in safeguarding water quality, meeting the Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) and Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) standards, and mentoring the next generation of water professionals.
John holds advanced ADEQ certifications as a Grade 4 Water Distribution, Grade 4 Water Treatment, and Grade 1 Wastewater Collection professional. The AZ Water Association recognized John as the 2019 Operations Supervisor of the Year – Small System at the AZWater 92nd Annual Conference.
Throughout his career, John has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to operational excellence. His leadership, overseeing daily field activities and troubleshooting system challenges, has ensured the reliable delivery of drinking water to the community. He has strengthened regulatory compliance by consistently meeting or exceeding state and environmental standards, reinforcing Community Water’s reputation for safety and reliability.
A dedicated mentor, John has played a key role in training and developing utility staff, passing on his extensive knowledge to future water professionals. His practical innovations have contributed to the long-term resilience and sustainability of the company’s water infrastructure.
